Mason Turns 3

Rockin out on his Birthday
Mason turned 3 and boy did we have fun celebrating!  I was planning on skipping a birthday party this year and just have my parents, sister and fiance help us celebrate.  However, as Mason's birthday approached I realized he would actually enjoy a party and all the attention that comes with a bday celebration.  I called up some family last minute and invited them over for pizza and cake.  Luckily, the gang was available and made this the best birthday for him yet.  Three weeks later he is still talking about and asking when his birthday is.  I want to give a HUGE thank you to those that made it and helped us celebrate Mason's third birthday.  Family is so special and having everyone come break in our new home for such a joyous occasion was really special.  Time and time again I get to say how lucky we are. Everyone helped pull off a great party in less then a week for a very special boy.

So to the important stuff....Mason turning 3!  He is weighing in at 39 pounds and is 3 feet 4 inches.  He has a larger than life personality!  He is friendly to every person that passes by; always greeting people with a smile.  Mason is extremely articulate and smart which leads to full blown conversations with him along with many battles of the will.  He is very stubborn and strong willed which can lead me feeling challenged at times.  He remembers everything....do it once, say it once he gets it and remembers it better then the rest of us.  It amazes us all and leaves us in awe of him.  He has grown to love his sister and his new found love has landed him on top of her sometimes more literally then I would like.  But I find him trying to make her laugh, concerned about her when she cries and crawling beside her on the floor.  He loves getting out and about and having visitors over to play.  Mason isn't potty trained yet mainly because he refuses to wear underwear.  Let him run around without pants and he knows exactly where to pee.  He still takes one nap a day which can, if I'm lucky, be for a few hours.  He is the sweetest boy we know and are so lucky be his parents!

Mason Turns 2.5

Mason is 2.5 years old; and like every other mom in history I ask where has the time gone!?!?!?  I was looking at pictures the other night from his 1st birthday and it is amazing how much Mason has changed and how big he has gotten. Mason has an amazing personality, he is chatty, passionate, strong willed, funny loving and very smart.  He is so much fun to be with and makes us all laugh while always keeping us on our toes.
loves playing with eggs

Likes:
- water (he loves playing with, drinking and being in water)
- Pay doh
- singing (mainly to daddy finger) and dancing (to anything)
- plastic eggs
- Sofia the 1st
- watching videos on YouTube

Dislikes:
- listening
- strange noises
-things out of order
- using the big boy potty with any clothes on
- milk

Mason is extremely friendly and tends to make friends wherever we go!  He is starting to do imaginary play which is so fun.  We have the best time playing at the park or just walking around the block; it is amazing to watch him enjoy the little things.  Mason is always asking questions; if we see a dog he wants to know what the dog's name is. He also is in the "me" phase of his life. If he isn't singing Daddy Finger he is saying "me" or "me do."

"me do, me do"

Here is a video of Mason Singing Uptown Funk in someone's garden.  He stopped to belt out the tune in someone's garden.  (to view video you may have to go to the original post).  He spends the majority of his day singing and dancing; he is always putting on show....especially when we have guest over.

It is such an adventure being Mason's mom and I am so lucky to be the one doing the job each and everyday.  He has my heart; there is no question about that. We have so much fun together; he makes me laugh each and every day.  I can't imagine what changes will occur in the next 6 months but for now I enjoy watching him explore the world, his cute little voice, his belly laughs, and his kisses.

18 months {aka a year & a half}

My sweet baby boy is not a baby any longer he is a toddler (but in my eyes he will always be my baby boy, of course). April 10th marks Mason's half birthday and it is hard to believe or even remember when he was a little baby. I was looking at pictures the other night of Mason as a baby....life looks much different then it did 18 months ago.

Mason & Daddy playing with water after a trip to the park
Mason is extremely active! He only sits when he is watching one of his favorite shows (Dora or The Bubble Guppies). These shows have become my lifesaver; allowing me to eat, read, do laundry, get dressed, etc. Mason takes one nap a day and I'm lucky if that nap lasts two hours (very lucky, love those days). He is starting to experience a bit of separation anxiety  which has made for some tears when Matt leaves for work...EVERY morning. Nothing too terrible and it could be worse, but something new we are learning to handle. If Mason could live outside he would. With the change in weather I'm quickly learning how dirty boys are (hands and face are black within minutes). He still enjoys watching trains, trucks and cars zoom by. He is able to enjoy the preschool playground by our house, which is nice. He is quickly distracted by trees and rocks in said park; he defiantly is my little explorer.  Mason is obsessed with water! This makes drinking water, brushing my teeth and washing his hands or mine a challenge (don't worry, I do find a way to make all the above mentioned happen). He loves to play in the water be it while in the tub or just playing with Tupperware filled with some water. Endearing, funny and frustrating all at the same time. I go to sleep with his little voice in my head, "more more more WaTer."

I thank god for Mason everyday! We are so lucky to have such an active, talkative (did I mention he can count to ten in both English & Spanish...thank you Dora), fun, independent, stubborn toddler. There is a moment in time everyday that I'm completely in awe of him and there are still days I can't believe he is ours. He brings such joy and fulfillment to our lives.
